The following perhaps tells a little how deeple affected I was by understanding what the abiding life is, in 2001: "No need to win, 'cause I'm more than a winner; no need to be better, 'cause I can't be more than I am; I can let Him live in me, 'cause I died when He did." Help other people to rest in Him is what my wife and I want to do. Therefore, besides counseling I have also been giving Abiding Life Seminars in Southern Brazil. The expression "abiding life" does not translate easily into Portuguese and the name used here,Vida Plena, translates as Full Life into English.
Tell us about yourself.
I am married to Tania since 1974. We had Daniele (1975) and Fernando (1977). I'm a consultant and translator, (yet watching myself slowly becoming more of an abiding life speaker and counselor, as the Lord leads), Tania is a teacher and translator; Daniele is an architect and her husband Wilson a very creative Graphic Designer. Fernando graduated in Business and just came back from the USA, where he lived for three and a half years. We like to host people, so consider us seriously if you come to Curitiba, state of Parana Brasil.
What is your ministry emphasis?
Our natural habitat are small house groups providing a safe environment for secularized people to study the Bible, with none or very little contact with regular churches. The abiding message fits and complements the Nav culture of discipleship and person-to-person work. Since 2004 we have been invited more and more to conferences at churches, and expect to reach the two other Brazilian southern states from 2006 on, as the Lord does that.
I can also see how much the churches in Brazil need this message, and will also keep an eye on the opportunities in that area.
Brazilians are relationship driven, and our basic goal is to spread the abiding life concepts by means of seminars, and recognize and support the counselors/disciplers that the Lord calls them.
Then, as the Lord opens the doors, to provide the logistics for the abiding message to reach the churches in southern Brazilian states. This has happened to some extent with individuals in those states, and we expect that 2007 and 2008 to be key years for the southern states.
