In 1997, a thousand kilometers away from where Geoff Hopson was ministering as Principal of Capernwray Torchbearers Bible School in Australia, a quality medical recuperative care centre was under construction near Boonah in the Fassifern Valley in southeast Queensland.

In early 2000, Geoff became aware of this property, and in June that year, Geoff and Beryl Hopson and Phil and Wendy Bell sold their homes and purchased that failed medical care facility . . . and Mount Alford Lodge was born.

Now retired from formal ministry, Geoff is fully focused on this exciting vision as he continues to “watch from the sidelines” as God works in the lives of His people. The added bonus is that he is able to live in the “most beautiful place in southeast Queensland, Mount Alford Lodge! Located on the foothills of Mount Alford just 100 kms from Brisbane and 15 kms from Boonah, the Lodge enjoys magnificent views to both the Border Ranges and the Great Divide.

Both short and medium term programs are operated throughout the year ranging from weekend events to courses of up to one month in duration. Abiding Life Ministries International holds its training school there regularly.
